The Rita Coffee Table is inspired by 1960’s & 70’s coffee table designs that were fitted with a planter. Commonly fitted with a metal planter without a hole, they would rust and dent easily over time. The Rita Coffee Table is my modern take on this idea; handcrafted from solid wood and fitted with a handmade ceramic planter. With smooth rounded curves matched with heavy legs this piece manages to be both soft and grounded at the same time.

The interior ceramic dish is handcrafted by local ceramicist Stone & Sparrow. It has a slightly angled bottom to direct the water to the center where a cork can be removed to drain the plant. Whether you prefer to water your plant in the coffee table or out, the dish can easily be removed by hand.

Why Is This A Seconds? This piece was a sample and has a various scratches and dents on it. There is a crack on the top and a big knot underneath, though hard to see.
