Position Overview:
Han Studio is looking for part-time woodworking assistant to work closely with Hanna in a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in woodworking, be detail-oriented, and comfortable using various tools & machinery. Previous woodworking experience is required, but specific training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
— Assists in every stage of various woodworking projects including cutting, jointing, planing, gluing, carving, sanding, finishing, etc. — Turns projects on the lathe (lathe training will be provided). — Maintains a clean & organized woodshop, ensuring all tools & machinery are always taken care of properly. — Fulfills, packs, and ships orders. — Helps with styling & photographing products. — Assists in marketing & promotion including social media, ads, and newsletters. — Helps with custom design work, sketches, and communication with clients. — Attends & assists selling at various art markets & shows.
Qualifications:
— Previous woodworking experience required (lathe turning experience is a plus, but not required). — Strong interest in learning about woodworking techniques & craftsmanship. — Comfortable working in a woodshop with various tools & machinery. — Ability to sketch designs (computer aided design experience is a plus, but not required). — Good attention to detail and a passion for quality work. — Has worked well and is able to present work to various artists, customers, and clients — Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to take on various tasks as needed.
